New Shoes!

Dr. Martens Felicia 2-tie

Dr. Martens Felicia 2-tie

I got these Dr. Martens “Felicia” shoes from Zappos.com today (thanks to the VIP program, I got ’em shipped overnight for the price of free)! I’ve always wanted a pair of creepers. I’ve wanted a new pair of Doc Martens for ages. These fit the bill, were affordable, so boom. New shoes! They’re very comfy so far, but also not broken in. They’re quite stiff. I’m also foreseeing a need for white shoe polish. I’d like to keep these tidy as much as possible. They’re roomy, but not too big, just right. I’ve got them on with a pair of not-thin, not-thick socks. These could work with thicker socks and still be okay, I think. Thinner socks would also be okay. But anyhow, enough of that. These are the shoes that shall see me through the next several weeks, and then it’s time to look for some summer shoes to rotate with these. I’ve always loved the Dr. Martens. In high school, I had a million pairs of boots and shoes. I think my most beloved pair were my black and white wingtips. Let’s see, actually: when I went to the UK in sophmore year, I bought a pair of navy blue 1460s (the eight-holes). Before that, I had a pair of black eight-holes with this weird more-pointed toe and greasy leather – didn’t like those. They were also double-stitched at the sole, which was odd. I later got a pair of oxblood 14-holes, those were the second paid. I got the navy blue ones, I got a pair of leopard-spotted brown suede boots, I had a pair of 10-hole steel-toed purple boots, I had the black-and-white wingtips, I had a pair of black oxfords, I had black sandals, and I think that’s it. I think? Anyhow, these are my first new pair in about a decade. Oh. Dr. Martens, I’ll never leave you again, baby. Let’s go look for a new pair of 1460s next.
